Following and followers
How following accounts and pages shapes your feed.
Following
When you follow an account or a Page:
- Their public posts appear in your Following Feed.
- Their Status updates appear in your Status bar at the top of the feed.
- You may receive a notification when they post or interact with you (depending on your activity).
To follow someone, open their profile and tap Follow. Tap Following (or Unfollow) on the same button to unfollow.
Your followers and following lists
When you are signed in, tap Followers or Following on your own Profile to open the list. Scroll to load more.
- Followers shows people who follow you.
- Following shows people you follow and Pages you follow. Use the People / Pages tabs to switch between them without scrolling past a long people list. From each row you can open the profile/page or follow / unfollow.
Followers
Your followers are accounts that follow you. The count appears on your Profile under Followers, alongside Posts and Following.
Page followers
On a Page profile, the follower count is tappable when you are signed in. That opens the list of people who follow the page (separate from who you follow as a person). You can follow or unfollow those people from the list the same way.
Online status and last seen
Public shows when accounts are online with a small status indicator near their avatar in chats and headers, and last seen timestamps when they're offline. You can hide your own online status only by signing out — there is no privacy toggle for it today.
Suggestions
Public suggests people and pages to follow in:
- The right sidebar on the web feed (People you may know, Pages to follow).
- The Explore tab on Android.
- The People screen.
