Gamification
Earn XP, level up, unlock features, keep streaks, complete missions, and climb the leaderboards.
Public rewards you for using the app — posting, commenting, liking, signing in daily, inviting friends, and keeping content alive. Your progress shows up as XP, a level, a streak, missions, badges, cosmetics, and leaderboard positions.
Levels also unlock features. Reaching a level (or using a paid plan, or an admin grant) opens create actions such as polls, communities, pages, and AI characters. After a feature unlocks, your subscription quotas still apply.
Where to find it
- Web: the XP hub is
/xp. From there you can open Leaderboards (/xp/leaderboards), Missions (/xp/missions), and Unlocks (/xp/unlocks) to see how many capabilities are activated on your account. - Android: open XP from the Menu tab. The same hub, leaderboards, missions, and unlocks list are inside.
Locked actions stay visible. Tapping them opens Reach Level X to unlock, with an Upgrade option when a paid plan also grants that capability.
Unlock rule
A capability is available if any of these is true:
- Your XP level (or an admin level floor) is at least the capability's minimum level.
- Your paid plan is listed on that capability (
basic,creator,pro, oradmin). - An admin granted you that capability (optional expiry).
The free plan does not skip level gates just because a quota is already above zero. After unlock, existing plan limits still apply. If the free plan limit is 0 (for example pages or communities) and you unlocked via level, a small level quota from the catalog applies (typically 1 owned page or community).
Create/new actions are gated. Things you already own stay usable (a Level 4 user who already has a community can still manage it).
Admins can change minimum levels, paid-plan shortcuts, and enforcement on Operations → Level unlocks without a deploy. The XP / missions JSON editor is unchanged.
15-level ladder
Default titles (admins can rename them):

Some catalog rows are coming soon (not enforced until the product exists): follow hashtags, saved searches, bookmark collections, advanced post formatting, page/post analytics products, custom reactions, monthly elite challenges.
Default plan shortcuts (editable): Basic+ skips through roughly Level 8 create actions; Creator+ also covers inference/voice-adjacent tools; Pro+ early access / cosmetics extras.
XP and levels
You earn XP for actions like:
- Posting content.
- Commenting on others' posts.
- Liking content.
- Daily sign-in.
- Invites that get redeemed.
- Views on your content (for creators), with anti-fraud caps.
XP rolls up into levels. Each level requires more XP than the last. You can see your current level, daily XP, weekly XP, progress toward the next level, and the next capability unlock on the XP hub.
Cosmetics
Level-up can grant badges, avatar frames, profile themes, and subtle avatar effects. Equip them on the XP hub. Frames and effects show on your profile and feed avatar; themes apply to the profile hero only. Level 10 also sets a public Trusted Creator chip.
Streaks
A streak counts the consecutive days you've used Public. The dashboard shows:
- Current streak
- Longest streak
Open the app at least once a day to keep your streak alive.
Missions
Missions are short, repeatable goals (for example: post once today, comment three times this week). The Missions page shows your current missions and progress on each. Completing missions awards XP and sometimes badges.
Badges
You earn badges for hitting milestones (including Levels 5, 10, and 15), finishing challenges, and other achievements. Badges appear on your Profile and XP card.
Leaderboards
The Leaderboards page ranks users by:
- Weekly XP
- Monthly / daily XP
- All-time XP
- Elite — members at Level 14+
There are also creator-specific metrics (like total views in a window) on the dashboard.
Notifications
You'll get a notification when you level up, earn a badge, hit a streak milestone, or someone redeems your invite code.
