Invite

Every account on Public has an invite code you can share with friends. When they sign up using your code, you both get rewards through Gamification.

Find your code

• Web: open /invite from the sidebar. The Invite Center shows Your Invite Code, Redeem Code, and stats.
• Android: open Invite Center from the Menu tab.

Share your code

Copy the code from the Invite Center and send it to friends however you like. They'll paste it into the Invite Code (Optional) field on the sign-up screen.

You can also use the in-app share affordance to share your code with one tap.

Regenerate your code

If your code leaks publicly or you just want a new one, choose Regenerate in the Invite Center. Your old code stops working immediately.

Limits and abuse protection

• Each invite code has a usage limit (default 1000 redemptions). When it runs out, you can regenerate a new one.
• A code can have an expiry date.
• You can't redeem your own code.
• Each invitee can only redeem one code, ever.
• If a code is redeemed in a suspicious pattern, the redemption may be held for review before rewards are paid out.

Rewards

When a friend redeems your code:

• You get XP and may earn a badge for hitting invite milestones (see Gamification).
• The new account gets a small XP bonus too.

You'll see a notification when this happens.

Redeem someone else's code

You can redeem an invite code in two places:

1. At sign-up — paste the code into the Invite Code (Optional) field.
2. Later, in the Invite Center — paste the code into Redeem Code.

Codes can only be redeemed once per account.
