Cannot sign in

Recover access when sign-in or sign-up fails.

Check the basics

  • Make sure Caps Lock is off when typing your password.
  • Confirm you're using the same email you signed up with — not a similar one.
  • If you signed up with Google, use the Login with Google / Continue with Google button. The email/password form won't work for Google accounts.
  • Make sure your device has internet.
  • On Android, make sure Public is up to date — see Update the app.

Forgot password

  • Web: open public.kim/forgot and enter your email.
  • Android: tap Forgot Password? on the Log In screen.

You'll get a reset link by email. After resetting, sign in with your new password.

Email confirmation didn't arrive

When you sign up with email, you have to click the confirmation link that's emailed to you. If it didn't arrive:

  • Wait a few minutes — emails can be delayed.
  • Check your spam or junk folder.
  • Make sure you typed the email correctly.
  • If your email provider blocks unknown senders, allow mail from Public's auth provider.
  • Sign in to trigger Public to resend the confirmation link.

"Please verify your email" loop

If sign-in keeps sending you to Please Verify Your Email:

  1. Open the latest verification email and click the link on the same device as the app.
  2. Once the link confirms successfully, return to Public and sign in again.

Wrong password and you didn't forget it

If you're sure your password is right but sign-in fails:

  1. Reset it (above) and choose a new one.
  2. Make sure you don't have a saved old password autofilling — delete the saved password in your browser/keychain.

Google sign-in fails

  • Make sure you're signed in to the right Google account in your browser or on your device.
  • Allow third-party cookies for Public's auth domain.
  • On Android, make sure Google Play Services is up to date.

Still stuck

Reach out from the Contact link in the app footer or the About → Contact Support screen. Include the email address you signed up with so support can find your account.
