Deep links
public.kim links open Public directly when the iOS app is installed.
When the iOS app is installed and set to handle public.kim links, taps on a profile or post take you straight to that screen instead of Safari.
What opens in the app
Tapping a link like one of these opens the matching screen in Public:

https://public.kim/passwords - Explore, Pulse, Pages, Invite, XP, Settings, and other in-app destinations.
Locale prefixes such as /en/ or /hi/ are stripped first, so https://public.kim/hi/u/you still opens the profile.
If a link doesn't have a matching native screen, Public ignores it rather than opening a blank page. Open those URLs in Safari instead.
The app also understands the custom scheme publicapp:// with the same paths.
Choose what handles public.kim
iOS lets you control which app opens public.kim links.
- Open Settings → Apps → Public (or Settings → Public on older iOS).
- Look for Open Links or Default Browser App options related to Public.
- Confirm Public is allowed to open supported links.
If links still open in Safari:
- Make sure Public is up to date — see App updates.
- Long-press the link in Safari or Messages and choose Open in Public if offered.
- Make sure you're signed in inside the app.
Deep links from notifications
Tapping a push notification opens the same in-app destination as the matching link — for example, a new message push opens the relevant conversation.
