App updates
How Public prompts you to update on iOS — App Store and required updates.
Public for iOS updates through the App Store. There is no Google Play-style in-app installer.
Update from the App Store
- Open the App Store.
- Search for Public (bundle ID
in.publicapp.ios). - Tap Update if an update is available.
If you see Open instead of Update, you already have the latest version.
Required update
If your installed version is below the minimum supported version, Public shows a full-screen Update required message. You can't keep using the app until you update.
Tap Update now to open the App Store listing (when one is available). You can also search the App Store for Public and update from there.
Auto-update
You can also enable automatic updates in iOS so Public installs the newest version without prompting.
- Open Settings → App Store.
- Turn on App Updates.
App version
Your current version is shown in two places:
- The footer of the Menu tab as Public for iOS X.Y.Z (build).
- The bottom of Settings.
